The Yaburara Heritage Trail is named after Traditional Owners, Ngarluma people, in honour of the Yaburara people. It is an insightful self-guided 3.5 kilometre, grade 4 walk.

The Yaburara Heritage Trail may be undertaken as one point-to-point trail, but there are also shorter loop trails and branch trails allowing for shorter walks which return to the original departure point. Much of the trail is rough trackway with some steep ascents and descents on the point-to-point trail, and there is no shade along the trail.
The trail commences from the water tanks overlooking the town centre and access is via the information bay on Karratha Road, next to the Karratha Visitor Centre, from the back of Karratha Leisureplex off Dampier Road, or from the trail parking area on Dampier Road. Information signage along the trail offers insight on the important Aboriginal heritage sites along the trail as well as local flora and fauna.
