The Mackerel Islands are located a short hop off the coast of Onslow (between Exmouth and Karratha), a 2- hour flight north of Perth or a 1,400km drive on an epic coastal road trip. This is where warm sunny days, waking up to the sound of the ocean, barbeques at your beachfront cabin, snorkelling with turtles and amazing marine life, and world-class fishing awaits!

A ferry service operates twice a week from Onslow, on Tuesdays and Fridays, or you can bring your own boat and hire a mooring, with secure parking available on the mainland. The island also has its own airstrip and welcomes private and charter planes.

Choose from a range of beachfront cabins complete with kitchens, BBQs, indoor and outdoor dining areas, air conditioning and panoramic ocean views. Bring your own groceries and self-cater. Dinner Under The Stars, a casual social beach dinner, is held twice a week.

Spot sea turtles, whales and dolphins, snorkel among colourful fish and tropical crays, jump on a kayak or SUP board, hire a boat and cruise around the bay, go on a sunset 4WD bus tour, stargaze in awe while soaking up the quietness, or get in on the sensational beach and jetty fishing action.
